The calcium and magnesium ions in the water align their magnetic poles with the magnetic field – it changes the rotation and translation patterns of the electrons, which in turn changes their orbital angular momentum. This leads to disturbances in the crystal agglomeration process. The hydrocarbons form clusters, and the magnetic field aligns the chains, forming a dipole relationship with themselves, which depolymerizes and reduces the size of the crystals: this prevents paraffin deposition and actually creates a repulsive force between the molecules, altering the rheological and morphological properties.
